The Taylor Family Tomb.

The inscription on the tomb tells us about the Taylor family. Charles Taylor erected the tomb in memory of his beloved wife Mary. He writes in the inscription that Mary “departed this life in full assurance of a glorious resurrection.” What was it that gave her this assurance? How did she know that she would one day be with Jesus in heaven? Obviously, her faith in Jesus was strong. She believed everything she had read about him in the Bible. She must have known that if she trusted and believed in Jesus, then she would one day be with him. As the man on the other cross at Calvary was told “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in Paradise.” She believed that on the great day when Jesus returns she would be raised from death, to be with him in glory. Charles Taylor knew that his wife had accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, and so was sure that she would be raised to everlasting life when Jesus finally returns.

before you make up your mind?

Remember Jesus’ words: “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
