The Harrison Window.

This window of two sections is dedicated to the Honourable Michael Harrison, a judge of the high court of Justice in Ireland. The window depicts a judge from the Bible, of equal, if not higher standing. The judge depicted is of course the prophet Samuel. Samuel was a very important prophet in the history of the Jewish nation, around 1150 BC. It was he who anointed both Saul and David as kings of Israel. It was he who judged the people of Israel all the days of his life, as the Bible tells us. Samuel followed God’s laws, and judged the people wisely, just as the scroll in the top window says: “By the law of the Lord, he judged the congregation”. It was Samuel who enabled both Saul and David to judge wisely too, and the picture at the bottom of this window shows Samuel guiding the King, as he settles a dispute.
